So, you like bottled water?

Okay, so you buy bottled water.

http://www.state.me.us/dhhs/eng/water/images/bottledwater.jpg

Did you know that the average 20ounce bottle weighs 7 ounces in plastic.

If you drink one bottle a day then you produce 159 pounds of trash a year in just bottles.
that's more than a welterweight boxer.

http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2007/writers/chris_mannix/05/06/mayweather.superfight/T1_0505_pretty.jpg

You may drink two bottles of water a day. That would be 318 pounds of garbage produced.
three bottles? 477 pounds.

that's as much as a male grizzly bear.

Now a bottle of water (or other soft drink ), not bought in bulk, costs roughly $1.
That's $365 dollars saved right there if your a one bottle a day person.

You may buy in bulk to save money. Well. if you pay just $0.30 per bottle (very cheap) then you still are spending $110 in water per year if you drink just one a day.

You still want the hydration, right?

Here are some easy alternatives.

1. Get a water bottle. I would recommend a Klean Kanteen.
They look sweet and will save you green. ( click me to check them out)

2. what is the main determining factor for buying a product?

3. do you think about the products effect on the environment? ( be honest)

4. do you normally purchase environmentally friendly products?

5. if not, why?

6. is it confusing how Eco friendly products are better for the environment?

7. what would make you think more about your ecological impact?

Warning: you may want to copy post after you write it and before you try to submit it.
Blogger may decide to screw up and not publish it the first time. I would be very sad if you had to type it again or lost some useful insight because of a glitch on the blog.

Thank you for your time. I appreciate the help.

please enjoy the other posts here and feel free to tell me what you think.

an easy tip to put money in your pocket

want to save some dough the easy way?

1. wet the toothbrush
2. turn the faucet off
3. brush
4. rinse

The average faucet uses three gallons a minute. If you brush your teeth for two minutes, that's six gallons. If you are a good little boy or girl and don't want your teeth to rot out, then you will be doing this routine at least twice a day. That is twelve gallons.

12 gallons x 365 days = 4,380 gallons per year

water is roughly $.oo6 per gallon

so... one person can save about $26 a year. If a family of four can save $100 a year with a little bit of conservation of water.

about your toilet

An older toilet can use up to five gallons per flush. So, that means that if you flush twice a day for a year you use 3,650 gallons of water. In a household of four that is 14,600 gallons.

That's enough to fill up a 24' wide 54'' deep circular swimming pool.

On the other hand a high efficiency toilet uses 1.6 gallons, or less, per flush. That's only 1,168 gallons per year for one person flushing two times a year, and 4,672 gallons for a family of four.

A high efficiency toilet saves you ten thousand gallons a year!

That's good for your wallet and the environment.

Be showerd in cash

I am guessing that your here because you are interested in making some money. Well, it is much easier than you think.

Did you know that a ten minute shower costs you almost fifty cents if you have an old shower head. That means that if you take one shower a day for a year it will cost you $153.

In comparison a water saving shower head will cost only $35 a year.

That's a savings of $118 per year in a single person household. Multiply that by the number of family members and the savings are quite notable.
